Egg Does Daytime

A whole season of brilliant raving in the afternoon at the multi-room King’s Cross venue

I

t used to be the preserve of Ibizan holiday trips or scary after-after parties, but now, daytime clubbing is fully part of London’s diverse events culture.

York Way’s Egg has always been a brilliant place for a daytime dance with its many outdoor areas offering those terrace vibes, alongside cavernous indoor spaces in which to lose yourself properly, and all while still being able to get home for bedtime, (unless you willfully get a bit carried away, so carry on).

Hot on the heels of the bank holiday weekend’s epic Promised Land party, and Saturday’s sizzling Latin Groove VIP Pool Party, there’s a full autumn calendar of daytime fun, starting with uplifting tech house bash Dance on Arrival (Sat 21st Sept), with Banksie, D1:E1, Joey Hopping and TiBBs.

Saturday 28th sees the return of the massive Flotation daytime trance party, with Tenishia headlining, and the next day (Sun 29th) Soul Sessions is back, with Dennis Valentine, David Bailey and loads more celebrating 12 years of Italy’s Souldynamic records all day. Look out for the Caribbean food too.

Finally for this autumn daytime series, on Oct. 4th, the housework crew present a year of Outta Space by bringing Space Ibiza hero Jonathan Ulysses in for a rare London show.

Now’s the time to eek a few final al fresco afternoons of summer in the famous (reopened) Egg garden, or head into the thumping daytime darkness inside, on these tempting Saturday and Sundays.
