Pilgrim turkey burger at Yeah Burger: oh so tempting…

1. Daily burger bargains? Yeah!

Yeah Burger – the new kitchen pop-up at King’s Cross rave boozer Star of Kings – has only just launched, but they’re not short of a great deal or two. On Mondays, share two burgers and fries for a fairly unbeatable £10. Alternatively, if you work locally, there’s 20% off drinks and select menu items, including their scarily mouth-watering ‘pilgrim’ turkey burger (pictured) on Worker Wednesdays. Meanwhile a Yeah burger and fries is only a fiver with student ID at lunchtimes (12-3pm). More info here. 126 York Way, N1C

2. Affordable overnight luxury

We’re strong believers in a cheeky restorative night between the crisp cotton sheets of one of the area’s swanky hotels. And some of the packages at the Great Northern make taking a local mini-break as easy on the wallet, as it is on mind body and soul. The “spoil yourself” package is available every Sunday night, and includes a night in a train-themed “couchette” room, a three-course dinner at Michelin-starred chef Mark Sargeant’s Plum + Spilt Milk restaurant, plus breakfast too, for only £100 per person. Alternatively there’s a Westfield shopping package for those hunting further bargains at the sales, which includes the room and breakfast, the six-minute Javelin train ride to Stratford, a Westfield VIP discount card for the day, before being whisked back to the hotel for a glass of champagne in the GNH Bar. 3. Free underground clubbing

Cally Road’s creative hotspot Drink Shop Do are well-known for their quirky craft workshops, boozy cake events and popular coffee offshoot DASH, but did you know they also have a wild subterranean club venue, too? It’s open for dancing every Friday and Saturday night and is always free to get in before 10pm. Even then, if you can’t quite get your act together to make the door charge watershed, it’s only £3 all night, and offers up party music, cocktails and pretty much guaranteed bargain basement good times all round. A snip. Latest party listings here. 9 Caledonian Road, N1

4. 30% off at Camino

Get a hefty slice off your bill at buzzy Spanish joint Camino this month simply by filling in a quick online voucher. It’s valid for up to six people dining, meaning there’s no need to hold back when ordering plates of the authentic tapas, tasty charcuterie and artisanal cheeses, let alone the unrivalled selection of regional Spanish wines and #dryjanuary-busting sangrias. The offer is also good for two-for-one glasses of cava in the basement of their other, non-King’s Cross site, Coppa De Cava in Blackfriars.
