Following an excellent debut in September 2015, we were a little gutted that the glorious Courtyard Festival didn’t pop-up on the same late summer weekend last year. But it turns out we shouldn’t have worried, as today they have announced a thoroughly bigger and better bank holiday version of the event, running from 25th-29th May.
The idea is to bring barrels of more than a hundred different Welsh craft beers and ciders down from the Brecon Beacons (home to the Green Man Festival each summer) for thirsty Londoners to guzzle, including brews from the likes of Purple Moose, Brecon Brewing, Monty’s, Pipes and Bragdy Twt Lol.
And, being run by such respected festi-organisers also means the music is guaranteed to be frothy too, even though nothing has been announced yet (bar the fun of a silent disco from 10pm each night). Expect genre-hopping acts across all five days, anyway.
Being King’s Cross, there’s also going to be the usual barrage of streetfood vendors close at hand to give you something to chow down with your pint. And if 2015 was anything to go by, the event is likely to attract a sea of Welsh flags, shirts and valleys accents to N1C for the duration.
