Where to find your July issue of Gasholder – and what’s in it

Coal Drops Yard destination Hicce leads our summer food and drink issue

Last autumn in Coal Drops Yard, a low-key, rather elegant restaurant emerged above newly open lifestyle store Wolf & Badger.

Hicce is chef Pip Lacey’s first standalone project following her win on Great British Menu, backed by her mentor friend Angela Hartnett. Winning rave reviews, her innovative cooking has proved such a hit that it’s already stormed industry bible Restaurant Magazine’s Top 100 places in the UK this year, something no other new opening in King’s Cross has yet managed.

This laidback venue really comes into its own in the summer. As if to underline the fact, last month the team launched probably the best outdoor terrace in the neighbourhood to watch the sunset; inside our new issue, out today, we report on the seasonal highlights of its impressive, well-priced menu.

Elsewhere, we explore new streetfood arrivals, revamped pubs and openings in the wider area, as well as the city’s best new seafood shack down in London Bridge.
