MUST DO: Canopy Market, clubbing & free piano lessons

A new weekly King's Cross market, all-nighters at the Egg - and tinkling the St Pancras ivories

SHOPPING: Canopy Market goes weekly

From this weekend, what’s become something of a one-stop shop for artisan craft, design and streetfood is now a firm weekly fixture at King’s Cross. Special features for Easter include the first petting farm for kiddies (lambs, goats, rabbits and the like), plus an arty egg hunt run by students from Central Saint Martin’s, and spring-themed workshops at the House of Illustration (not to mention hot cross buns and hand-crafted easter eggs a-plenty). And don’t forget the usual mix of live music and DJs, from jazz and swing to rare soul and blues. Plus, of-course, craft beer, cocktails and all the usual top-notch streetfood. Fri 30 March – Sun 1 April. More info here, West Handyside Canopy, N1C

MUSIC: Free piano lessons in St Pancras

To mark International Piano Day (Thur 29th March) the pianos of St Pancras – famous for hosting spontaneous sessions from Elton John and John Legend – will turn into a practice space for complete novices. With tutors from musical tuition company, Lycaeum, the 15 min free lessons will run throughout the day between 10am-12pm and 3.30pm-5pm (but you have to book beforehand). From then-on, these lessons will then continue on the first Saturday of the month. It’s not all nascent ivory-tinklers though: there’ll also be professional performances from the likes of Joe Armon Jones, Laurel and the West End Choir. Thurs 29th, St Pancras pianos, head here to pre-book.

CLUBBING: Egg’s Easter Thursday spesh

We loved Aeroplane, the late noughties Balearic electro combo most remembered for their inspired (and very catchy) album We Can’t Fly. One half of the duo, now known as The Magician (aka Stephen Fasano) makes his Egg London debut as part of the club’s mahoosive Easter Thursday spesh. Also playing in the main room are Riton and Boston Bun, while on the ground floor are M!SF!T and Saytek (live). More info here. 29th March 11pm-6am, Egg, 200 York Way N7
