WATCH: The Scotch Egg Challenge

Every year The Canonbury pub hosts this chance to watch and mingle with some of the UK’s top chefs and food writers, compèred by Joe Warwick. Those chefs invited to hatch their best creations will be blind-tasted by judges (including Felicity Cloake, Robin Gill (The Dairy) and James Ramsden (Pidgin). There’s always some diverse choonage to be sought out in and around Granary Square – and this weekend is no exception.

First off, to celebrate the release of his Metromonk Unplugged EP, world-renowned producer and multi-instrumentalist Manu Delago is kickstarting his year with an intimate show at King’s Place. 17th Feb, York Way, more here.

Prefer something more hedonistic? On the decks at nearby Spiritland are The Unabombers, who’ve defined the sound of Manchester’s party scene for 20 years, with a root through founder Luke Cowdrey’s record collection. 16th Feb, Stable Street N1C, more here.

RESTAURANT: Orrery celebrates a milestone

The fancy French restaurant in Marylebone marks its 21st anniversary by re-opening with a new interior and menu. The dining room has been overhauled, the space brightened by the floor-to-ceiling arched windows framing the St Marylebone Church courtyard, while new dishes include steak tartare with a sourdough and truffle dressing and Kentish lamb wellington with salsify and garlic.
