Where to find your November issue of Gasholder

In which we explore the phenomenal rise in 2017 of mindful eating. Plus the usual reviews, cultural news & interviews

It’s World Vegan Month – so what better excuse to explore the food we put into our mouths?

That’s not to say our November issue is po-faced. It’s simply about considering what we eat, how we eat it – and whether we can eat better.

2017 has seen an unprecedented rise in all things green, from plant-based menus at traditionally carnivorous chains to boundary-pushing new streetfood stalls and festivals.

There’s now also a dizzying range of terms to cover all levels of mindful eating. If you’re not yet full-on vegan, are you perhaps flexitarian? Reducetarian? Or our favourite, vagan? We examine what these words really mean, recommend the best meat-and-dairy-free options – and even road-test the posh new vegan menu at St Pancras institution The Gilbert Scott.

Confirmed meat-gobbler? There’s still plenty to enjoy in the issue. We unveil the big new foodie arrival in Granary Square, look at the remarkable history of the Almeida Theatre, hitch a ride with the monthly LGBT party that’s the Bang Bus – and even hop on the Eurostar to experience nocturnal Amsterdam.
