If you can’t get tickets to Centre Court, and don’t want to queue, then a good option is to head to King’s Cross to see all the live tennis action on the big screen. Celebrate Eid

Expect spectacle, art and, of course, great scran, at this annual bash outside Dishoom. Sample fragrant parcels of meetha paan, a popular Indian digestive, as well as traditional sweets, chai and Thums Up cola. Streetfood will be available from Saltwood Fish Bar, Bun Kabab, Sri Lankan favourites Kothu Kothu, pitas from Oli Babas and gelato from Nonna’s. Plus live music from Faisal Salah, British Muslim hip-hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage and sufi from Fahad O’ Fanoon and his band. All food is halal and no alcohol is served. Sat 1st July, Lewis Cubitt Square, Stable Street N1C

Hampstead Summer Festival

If you’ve never been, Hampstead’s annual seasonal bash is way less staid than you might think. Almost riotous, in fact. A week of artsy happenings kicks off from June 25th, the climax being a colourful street party with carnival atmosphere and tens of thousands cramming the thoroughfares. Over 100 stalls line Heath Street to a backdrop of live music, street entertainment, a fun fair, circus, artisan food, boutique clothing and gifts. July 2nd, Hampstead High Street NW3
