MUST DO: Orwell’s 1984 Live

Drop in and out of the all-day reading of Orwell's classic today

Senate House, the iconic building that inspired George Orwell’s chilling depiction of the Ministry of Truth, is today staging an all-day live reading of Nineteen Eighty-Four.

UCL and the Orwell Foundation are co-hosting the event which will witness 50 cultural figures, including Jack Monroe and Billy Bragg, reading sections of the book alongside members of the public in an immersive theatre experience.

The event will run from 9am to around 9pm tonight, audience members can come and go as they please and it is completely free to attend.

There will be a live stream of the event at various libraries around the country and available online.
