MARKET: Canopy is back for three days
Canopy Market is the monthly food, craft beer, music and shopping three-day fest that takes place under the restored West Handyside Canopy. Last time, while enjoying the blues from Dakota Jim, pint of Four Pure in hand, we gobbled streetfood from Le Bao, as well as tasty Moroccan chicken pastillas. There are also risotto balls from Arancini Brothers, plus charcuterie, chocoholics Bad Brownie, and the smelly (but lovely) Borough Cheese Company. It’s worth also sampling intriguing Notios wine at the Greek Larder. There are plenty of vintage, ethical and arty finds to be had, too. Fri 26th May (12-8pm), Sat 27th & Sun 28th May (11am-6pm). Minnie Weisz’ Future Memories
This show marks the opening of a new space for photography in King’s Cross, and celebrates a long collaboration with Weisz. She works in the medium of analogue photography, film and camera obscura, exploring the shifting layers of time. There’s also an opportunity to explore the studio space (18th-21st May) at 123 Pancras Road, NW1. Until 11th June (Fri to Sun 12-4pm), 12-13 Stable Street N1C
Booze from a boot
One for the diary. Wine Car Boot events are always a fun way to celebrate your ignorance about the grape (OK, we speak for ourselves). Each boot is akin to an independent wine shop presenting five of their favourite wines for you to taste, buy, drink-in or take home. As well as vino, there’s inevitably street food, music, demos and competitions – plus the all new Drinker’s Corner. A bookshop on all things wine plus tastings and demos complete the picture. Free. Sat 10th June, West Handyside Canopy N1C
