KERB is three

#KERBis3 jpeg flyer

It’s a full-on face-stuffing fiesta tonight, as streetfood collective KERB celebrate three years of next-level mobile catering.

For the special occasion they are moving from the daily pitch on Cubitt Square to the beautiful old West Handyside Canopy (where they first started out, in fact), and bringing their favourite traders along for a party.

Alongside the biggest names in the game, including Bleecker St. Burger, The Ribman and Donostia Social Club, the event also sees the launch of KERBlaborations, throwing traders into the kitchen together to see what unlikely concoctions result. Things could get interesting.

Look out for a selection of photos and films from the last three years too, plus DJs, decent beers and killer cocktails.

KERB is 3, West Handyside Canopy, N1C. Friday 9th October, 6-11pm, Free entry.

Epic waterway walking

Big Stride OutDavid Bracey is the brains behind all those beautiful water features in King’s Cross. His company, The Fountain Workshop, can make water dance, with the 1,080 multi-coloured jets at Granary Square their flagship project.

This weekend, David and his friend Desmond embark on a charitable walk from Birmingham, along 150 miles of Grand Union and Regent’s canals, to arrive at King’s Cross on Wednesday.

Each of the five days raises money for a different good cause, close to their hearts, with an ambitious £50,000 target already within their reach.

Follow their progress, share their photos, give them a call(!) but most importantly sponsor them, all via the Big Stride Out website and also @BigStrideOut on Twitter.

Frame is open, time to get sweaty

Stylish, highly energetic and brand new: Frame in King's Cross
Stylish, highly energetic and brand new: Frame in King’s Cross

Dynamic urban fitness studio Frame have just opened their third outlet, right here in King’s Cross. Originally launched in Shoreditch back in 2009, they rapidly gained a reputation for their energetic, yet fun take on keeping super-healthy.

And this new branch extends that ethos further with the Fuel Café, where you can drop by for a pre-workout power smoothie or try a virtuous-sounding Frame Fuel Bowl, packed with vitamin rich veg, shoots and nuts.

This weekend, clothing Brand Sweaty Betty takeover the space on Saturday, to celebrate the curation of thier range in the soon-to-open Frame KX shop. For only £5, there’s a choice of one of six special classes including rocket yoga, dance cardio and bell & box, and the ticket can also be redeemed against the cost of a post-workout juice. Nice one!

Frame King’s Cross, York Way, N1C. More info via the website.
