SEE: a ‘doodle-bomber’

New exhibition, Hattie Stewart: Adversary (image above), has just opened in the South Gallery at Granary Square’s House of Illustration. A self-proclaimed professional ‘doodle-bomber’, Stewart takes on glossy advertising imagery with her characteristic homage-meets-satire approach. And she’s the first in a series of illustrator commissions in the coming months at the gallery.
Until 19 July, free. 2 Granary Square N1c.

DRINK: a tipple in an indoor garden

Former station taxi rank-turned-hotel-lobby, St Pancras Renaissance’s imposing and airy Hansom Lounge, is celebrating the arrival of Chelsea Flower Show with their own tempting indoor garden installation.

Based on the larger Cloudy Bay Garden at this year’s show, designed by award-winning landscape architects The Rich Brothers, it incorporates a ‘wine tasting experience’, serving up floral cocktails based around the famous New Zealand vino.

The bar runs Wed-Sat evenings, with afternoon tea and wine pairings offered daily too, alongside a selection of six sandwich creations, five indulgent cakes and, of course, scones.
Until May 24th, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, St Pancras Station

ENCOUNTER: Unannounced Acts of Publicness

A series of ten artworks will appear in Granary Square from early May. They intend to challenge the meaning of ‘public’ in privately owned public spaces, in particular the new destination of Granary Square.

The commissioned artists are from, within and beyond Central Saint Martins, including recent graduates and internationally renowned practitioners. The acts will remain unannounced until the 1st June when the programme will be announced retrospectively. Find out more
