We swung by the ongoing free Beano event at St Pancras Station this week, and enjoyed the juxtaposition of crazed Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx and the Bash Street Kids artwork with earnest commuters dashing to catch their trains under the Grade I-listed arches.

Beano St Pancras1

The specially curated, family-friendly exhibition celebrates this long-running comic and the launch of this year’s Beano annual by chronicling past annual covers from as far back as 1940, alongside classic sketches and comic strip spreads from over the years.

For those with a little more time on their hands than the daily commuters, there are two full-sized photoboards to stick your head through for a selfie with a twist.

And look out for the special Dennis the Menace-inspired black and red table tennis (we believe it’s called, erm, Table Dennis) to be found outside the Betjeman Arms pub.

Beano at St PancrasThe Beanotown exhibition runs until Jan 5th, Grand Terrace (upper level), St Pancras station, Euston Rd, N1C.
Entrance is free.
Taking the kids? Look out for Beano vintage iPad covers at Things British, also on the upper level, and a special Beano-themed menu and meal deal at Fine Burger, located in The Circle.
