Looking for something like a top indie disco on NYE? You could do worse than try the two floors at very late night haunt the Lexington, where there’ll be extra lasers, smoke machines, party poppers, a homemade glitter cannon and what they call “immediately broken resolutions”. Musically expect everything from leftfield pop to post-punk and a “pre-millennium party downstairs” for fans of tracks such as 1999, Blue Monday and Disco 2000. What’s not to like? Tickets £15. 9pm-4am, 31st December. 96-98 Pentonville Road N1

Prefer to bark along to classics in an increasingly husky voice on New Year’s Eve? Then ditch the Lexington (above) and leg it over to York Way for a double-headed Rockaoke and Karaoke Rumble, where the organisers encourage you to “sing hard, sing true or just sing really, really LOUD”. Ha. Three floors will be dedicated to belting out everything from power ballads to rap anthems to Britney’s finest. DJs will be on hand, too. 9pm-3am, 31st December. Tickets here. 126 York Way N7
