Next weekend King’s Cross will host its first ever regular Canopy Market, a new shopping extravaganza bringing together “quality produce, makers and sellers”, in the covered West Handyside space. So if it rains, meh.
The market is a collaboration between five sturdy organisations: the Real Food Festival, Made in Arts London (run by Arts SU, the Students’ Union of University of the Arts London), the Independent Label Market, N1C newcomer Spiritland, and Lily Cole’s social retail venture, Buy Impossible.
As you’d expect there’ll be some of the best artisans and street food talent in the capital, including British cured meats from The Charcuterie Board, raw milk from Hook & Son, slow-grown chickens from Fosse Meadow Farm, and bread from the excellently-named Dusty Knuckle (an award-winning social enterprise that works with young people facing barriers to financial independence).
Hungry there and then? Ponder some calorific lunch at The Cheese Truck (grilled sandwiches), Bell & Brisket (salt beef bagels) and Raviollie (handmade fresh pasta), amongst the street food traders rolling in to flog their wares.

But it’s not just about comestibles. On Friday 28th and Saturday 29th, market-goers can shop for art and design by Made in Arts London’s emerging artists and designers; while on the Sunday vinyl is on sale courtesy of the Independent Label Market and Spiritland.
There’ll also be DJ sets and a craft beer bar to help you on your merry way. Hic.
