Designer Wayne Hemmingway’s fiesta of vintage vehicles, nostalgic music from live bands and vinyl-toting DJs, plus loads of retro clobber and ephemera through which to rummage returns to KX this weekend. Whether you’re more interested ogling hundreds of old cars, bikes and busses, or simply there to sup on the craft beers or devour posh streetnosh, it’s an effortless big day out. It’s also becoming a bit of a mainstay of the King’s Cross events calendar, so well worth checking out this time around if you haven’t been before.
Sat 1st & Sun 2nd October, 10am-6pm, £5, in and around Cubitt Square

2. New Nike

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for something thoroughly modern to wear, head across Granary Square. It’s pretty diddy for sure – just two smallish floors and barely enough room to swing a pair of pumps, but the new outpost of Nike on King’s Boulevard is significant in that it’s the first non-food/drink opening on the stretch. Which presumably means there’ll now be a slew of clothing and footwear brands descending on N1C. Skint? You can also drop into the store to receive expert advice on the best products for your running technique and training style. Tick.

The recent calamitous fire at Greenwich nightclub Studio 338 has left Frankfurt’s legendary globe-trotting Cocoon party without a London home. Luckily York Way’s multi-room venue Egg has managed to save the day and host the next event this Friday, where the mighty man himself, Sven Väth, will be playing for four hours along with Dorian Paic and a host of others. It’s sure to be busy.
Friday 30th Sept, Egg London, 200 York Way, N7 £15-£20, 11pm-7am, Info and advance tickets
