Still not been to the new gallery on Granary Square? Well, this new show profiling one of the greatest illustrators of the 20th century might be a good place to start. Best known for his drawings for Winnie the Pooh and The Wind in the Willows, as well as his regular work for Punch magazine, E.H. Shepard also produced a substantial body of work while serving as an officer in the Royal Artillery in the First World War. The exhibition is the first to explore these illustrations drawn in the trenches on the Western Front and in Italy, and includes over a hundred original artworks including personal sketches and unpublished correspondence. 9th Oct to 10th Jan, 2 Granary Square, N1C

CLUB: DRAG AT CENTRAL STATION

This underrated multi-tiered venue has survived the recent cull of London’s gay bars – for now. It’s an institution over several floors (enter the raunchy basement at your own peril) but whether you’re gay or straight, the cabaret in the ground floor bar is always worth a peek. Particularly recommended? Legendary drag queen Sandra every Wednesday night from 930pm, who insults and delights the audience in equal measures. Free entry. 37 Wharfdale Rd N1 9SD
