The crowd-pleasing Wimbledon big screen freebie returns to King’s Cross on Monday, June 29th. And for 2015 it has moved – only half a minute’s walk – up to Lewis Cubitt Square, the new public space that didn’t even exist last time the All England Club Championships graced our TV sets.
Having previously squeezed over four thousand people into Granary Square when Andy Murray scooped victory in 2013, then increased the screen size to a whopping four by four metres in 2014, this year the new location looks set to give the event another memorable new attraction.
The first fifty visitors every day can grab a free deck chair, surely the most civilised way to contemplate the centre court action over a heaving punnet of strawberries.
And weekday lunchtimes see a range of tasty KERB streetfood options cropping up along the flank of the viewing area. Bringing along picnics is, however, actively encouraged too.

Lewis Cubitt Park is just behind the square, ideal for laying out your blanket and basket set, plus there are loads of other spots too, not to mention the outdoor terrace at Dishoom or take a break from the big screen drama around the corner at Grain Store, Caravan or the newer crops of restaurants in Pancras Square, too.
Pimm’s, prosecco, cold beers and soft drinks will be on offer at all times from the Strawberries and Screen bar, and bored kids will be kept amused via a series of tennis-themed pop-up events during the tournament.
